Lustau Vermut Blanco (15%)

This is a white vermouth from Bodegas Lustau in Jerez, built on a blend of dry Fino and sweeter Moscatel sherries. It is bottled at 15% ABV. Nine botanicals, including wormwood, chamomile, gentian, marjoram, orange peel and rosemary, are macerated separately and blended into the sherry base. The wine is fortified with neutral spirit distilled from Airén grapes. The nose is floral and citrusy with herbs, chamomile and orange zest. The palate starts savoury, with earthy herbs, a persistent bitterness and a nutty, salty thread. The finish is dry, crisp and nutty.
