Lustau Vermut Rojo

Lustau Vermut Rojo is a red vermouth from Bodegas Lustau, the Jerez sherry house. It is built on a blend of 10-year-old Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez, both aged by the solera system. Sage, gentian, coriander, wormwood, orange peel and other botanicals are macerated separately and then combined with the sherry base. The colour is deep mahogany with reddish tones. The nose has ripe fruit, citrus peel, herbs, smoked wood and almond. The palate is velvety and full, with toffee, dried apricot, orange peel and cocoa, lifted by herbal and spicy notes. It ends with a pleasant bitter edge and a nutty aftertaste.
