This is a 21 year old Macallan from the Colour Collection, a travel retail release from 2023, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was aged in American oak casks with a touch of European oak, all seasoned with sherry from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain.
The collection celebrates the distillery's commitment to natural colour and sherry seasoning, and the whisky has a natural, warm bronze colour. Flavours of tropical fruit, coffee, hazelnut and dark chocolate orange are described.
On the nose there is crème brûlée, candied orange and lemon, and sweet aged oak with caramelised pineapple.
