A 24 year old single malt from Macallan, distilled in December 1993 and bottled in January 2018 as an independent single cask release. Only 48 bottles came from the one sherry hogshead, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered.
The nose brings antique furniture, leathery tannins and manuka honey, with a hint of rooibos tea and dried citrus peel, then stewed apples and pears under buttery pastry. On the palate, redcurrant jelly and blackcurrant lead into chocolate-dipped dried orange, nutty malt, pecan, green walnut and a slow build of woody liquorice.
