A 26 year old Macallan from Speyside, distilled in 1995 and drawn from a single sherry cask. It was filled into 630 numbered crystal decanters, each with a crystal stopper.
The cask was one of two Macallan barrels chosen by Mahesh Patel, a collector of casks, more than 15 years ago.
Butterscotch and heather meet orange-zest charcoal smoke on the nose. The palate is creamy and peppery, with roasted nuts, nutmeg, clove, Madagascan vanilla, dark chocolate, honey, candied fruits and floral smoke. The finish is long, with sweet, oaky spice.
