A limited edition single malt from Macallan, and the first in a series of annual festive releases. It is inspired by Hogmanay, the Scottish New Year celebration, and comes in a 70cl bottle.
It was created by Macallan lead whisky maker Sarah Burgess, drawing on her own memories of Hogmanay. The whisky combines American and European oak sherry seasoned casks with ex-bourbon barrels, and the bourbon casks add vanilla, a nod to the shortbread carried by the first footer. The packaging carries designs by illustrator Erica Dorn.
The character is rich, sweet and shortbread-like, with festive dried orange and spice.
