Macallan Amber is a Speyside single malt in the distillery's 1824 Series, a no age statement range built around colour. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
It was matured only in sherry casks and carries natural colour. The 1824 Range was created in 2013 by whisky-maker Bob Dalgarno.
The nose is soft and aromatic, with vanilla, lemon, barley and ginger, plus milk chocolate and raisins. The palate is thicker and fruitier than the nose suggests, with sultanas, dates, apple peel and cinnamon, then mince pies with shortbread. The finish is fragrant oak, with the mince pie notes lingering.
