Macallan Aurora is a Speyside single malt released for Taiwan Travel Boutiques, in a one-litre bottle. It was introduced as the start of a voyage exploring the part sherry-seasoned oak plays in Macallan single malts.
It combines four cask types: European and American sherry-seasoned casks, sherry-seasoned hogsheads and American oak bourbon casks. The colour is described as sun-ripened barley.
The nose opens with dried fruits, then cinnamon and ginger, honeycomb sweetness, fresh citrus and polished oak. The palate is lightly spiced, with cardamom and sweet oak. The finish is sweet and medium in length, with dried fruits and citrus.
