Edition No. 1 is the first release in The Macallan's Edition Series, a limited edition bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was made for Taiwan and the USA.
The whisky is drawn from eight styles and sizes of European and American oak cask, a selection that reflects The Macallan's oak cask management from wood sourcing to seasoned cask. The Edition Series combines a different selection of oak cask styles each year.
The colour is natural honey. The nose offers orange, apple and dried fruit over vanilla, toffee and chocolate, and the palate opens with warming wood spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, dried ginger and toffee, with fresh fruit later. The finish is soft and lingering.
