The second release in the Macallan Edition series, a Speyside single malt in the larger 75cl US bottle size.
It is a collaboration between Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno and the Spanish chefs Joan, Josep and Jordi Roca of El Celler de Can Roca. The whisky is made from a blend of European and American oak casks, seven cask types in all, chosen to reflect the personalities of those involved.
The nose is mocha, brown sugar, a spark of ginger and oaky warmth. The palate has sherried raisins, dried citrus peel and a hint of vegetal oak, with a little chocolate. The finish is spiced fruit cake and lemon peel.
