Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Year Old is a Speyside malt whisky matured only in sherry casks, in a 70cl bottle with a paper gift box. The sherry influence is strong without being overbearing.
It comes from the Sherry Oak range, the distillery's traditional line of sherry-cask whiskies, which sits alongside the Fine Oak range that uses both bourbon and sherry casks.
The nose is fresh, with crisp apple, sweet dates and sugar syrup. The body is medium to full, with cake, oak, dates, vanilla and a little ginger, and a fine smokiness. The finish is long, with toffee and dried fruit.
