Macallan Sienna is a Speyside single malt from the 1824 Series, a range of naturally coloured whiskies chosen by hue and flavour. This 2013 edition comes in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in sherry casks from Jerez and balances rich dried-fruit sweetness with lighter, spicier notes. It is natural in colour and not chill-filtered.
Orange peel, vanilla sugar and hot cross buns lead on the nose. The palate brings raisins, dried apricots, ripe greengages and frozen currants, and the finish is fruity and slightly spiced with a touch of anise.
