A blended malt from Macallan's Harmony Collection, created with a particular tea in mind: JING Phoenix Honey Orchid, an oolong from the Phoenix Mountains of Guangdong, China. It is bottled at 43.9% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in oak casks seasoned with European and American sherry, with a few bourbon casks added. American oak brings peach and floral notes with honeyed sweetness, European oak a roasted richness and light tannic grip, and the bourbon casks a gentle sweetness.
The nose offers summer peach and apricot wrapped in floral honey, with tropical fruit, caramel and sweet oak. Fresh peach in rich syrup, warm citrus and caramel follow on the palate, leading to a fruity, sweet and complex finish.
