Macallan – Whisky Maker's Edition 1824 Collection Curiously Small Stills (2004) (70cl)

Macallan Whisky Maker's Edition is a Speyside single malt from the distillery's 1824 Collection, in a 70cl bottle. This expression, Curiously Small Stills, is dated 2004. The 1824 Range was created by whisky-maker Bob Dalgarno in 2013, built on the idea that colour is an indication of character. Macallan does not adjust colour, so each vatting has to match the hue of the one before, even though every cask has a different tint. The name points to the distillery's small spirit stills, which hold 3,900 litres and give a rich, oily new make.
