Mackmyra – Brukswhisky (70cl, 41.4%)

Mackmyra Brukswhisky is a Swedish single malt from the Mackmyra distillery, bottled at 41.4% in a 70cl bottle. It is made with local barley and is lightly smoky, with no added colour. Mackmyra matures its whisky in small casks, and part of the maturation takes place in a mine 50 metres underground. The nose is fresh, with delicate citrus, pear and crisp green apple, followed by gentle spice. On the palate come toffee, aniseed, ginger and sweet almonds close to marzipan, with a light touch of peat smoke and a peppery edge. The finish is fresh and clean.
