Mackmyra Fusion is a Swedish single malt, an edition in which the whisky is matured in a combination of five cask types. Ex-Rotspon wine casks make up 38% of the recipe and ex-Amarone wine casks 33%. Ex-bourbon casks account for 16%, Oloroso-seasoned casks for 7% and new American oak for the remaining 6%. It is bottled at 47.3%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
The nose is round and warming, with dark ripe berries, cherries, strawberries and plums, creamy vanilla and a touch of salt. The palate is oily and soft, with vanilla, red berries and dark chocolate. The long finish has a red wine character, with cherries, plums and dried fruit.
