Mackmyra – Lofsdalenlagret (50cl, 52%)

This is a lightly peated Swedish single malt from Mackmyra, part of the 2017 warehouse edition. Just 870 bottles were released across Europe, each 50cl bottle filled at 52%. It was matured in 16 small casks of 30 litres, holding bourbon and sherry, in the Lofsdalen Sky Bar, which sits at 1125 metres overlooking the Norwegian border. The nose is fruity, with citrus, pear, ginger, oak and toasted almonds. The palate brings orchard fruits, jelly sweets, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, green herbs and pepper. The finish carries aniseed, toffee apples and cinnamon, with lingering malt and fresh oak.
