Mackmyra – Moment Efva (70cl, 46.3%)

Mackmyra Moment Efva is a Swedish whisky made in collaboration with the jewellery designer Efva Attling. She chose 19 casks with Master Blender Angela D'Orazio, mainly Oloroso, American oak and ex-bourbon, most of them having held Swedish birch sap wine. A cask that once held cherry wine was added to bring more sweetness. It is bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle, with a polished silver cork designed by Efva. The nose is fruity, spicy and oaky, with red berries, flowers, citrus, chocolate, ginger and pear fudge. The palate is round and slightly spicy, with berries, blossom, white pepper, soft tobacco leaf and vanilla, in a light, oily, medium-bodied texture. The finish is long and soft, with spiced berries.
