Mackmyra – Pionjär 25th Anniversary Edition (70cl, 46.9%)

Mackmyra Pionjär 25th Anniversary Edition is a Swedish single malt marking twenty-five years of the Mackmyra distillery. It is composed from eight cask types, one for each of the eight friends who founded the company: first- and second-fill bourbon, new and first-fill American oak, PX and Oloroso sherry, an Ambassador cask and new Swedish oak. The Swedish oak makes up 13.9% and each of the others 12.3%. Bottled at 46.9% in a 70cl bottle, it is a run of 1,999 bottles, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose offers creamy vanilla, raisins, mango, lychee, berries, orange chocolate and ginger. On the palate come figs and raisins, blueberry, black pepper, ginger and vanilla. The finish is long, with ginger, dry oak, berry sweetness and dark chocolate.
