MacNair's Lum Reek 12 Year Old is a small batch blended malt that combines single malts from Islay and Speyside, both peated and unpeated, including aged GlenAllachie. The recipe was created by Billy Walker.
The whisky was matured at the GlenAllachie distillery in first-fill bourbon, Pedro Ximénez and red wine casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring. The name comes from the Scottish saying "Lang may yer lum reek", meaning long may your chimney smoke.
The colour is copper bronze. The nose brings sweet peat smoke, butterscotch, mocha and gentle nutmeg. On the palate there is heather honey, rich toffee and sweet spices, with peat running underneath.
