Maker's Mark (70cl, 45%)

This is Maker's Mark, a Kentucky straight bourbon made at the distillery in Loretto. Its recipe uses red winter wheat in place of rye, alongside corn and malted barley, and it is matured in new charred American oak. This 70cl bottle is 45% and wears the hand-dipped red wax seal. The maturation is judged by taste rather than a set age, and the barrels are moved by hand within the warehouse. The nose combines sweet oak and vanilla with light fruit and wheat. The palate is sweet, with oak, vanilla and fruit in balance. The finish is soft and creamy, clean, with mild spice.
