Maker's Mark is a Kentucky bourbon, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is made with soft red winter wheat in place of the usual rye, and the barrels are rotated by hand so that the bourbon is aged for flavour rather than for a set time.
Every bottle is still dipped by hand in red wax at the distillery in Loretto, Kentucky.
The nose is sweet oak, vanilla and fresh fruit with a lingering wheat note. The palate is sweet, balancing oak, vanilla and fruit, and the finish is smooth and creamy with a gentle touch of spice.
