Malts of Islay: Bowmore & Laphroaig 34 Year Old 1988 (Murray McDavid) (70cl, 51.4%)

This is a 34 year old blended malt of Bowmore and Laphroaig, two Islay distilleries, bottled by Murray McDavid at 51.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2022, with 229 bottles released worldwide. It was finished in a PX sherry cask, and it is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose combines cured meat, coastal embers and fruit. On the palate there is herbal peat, figs and heather honey, followed by a floral finish with sweet oak and baking spices.
