Manastir Slivovitz is a 10-year-old plum brandy from Herzegovina, bottled at 45% in a one-litre bottle. It is distilled from Požegača plums, and plum kernels are included during production, which adds an almond-like undercurrent to the spirit.
After distillation it is aged for ten years.
The nose is ripe plum skin and concentrated stone fruit with soft baking spice and a subtle nuttiness. The palate is bright and juicy, drying gradually to gentle warmth, a silky texture, faint smokiness and a bittersweet kernel note. The finish is medium-long and warming, with dried plum, almond and soft spice.
