Marc Brédif Chinon is a red wine from the Loire Valley, made entirely from Cabernet Franc in a 75cl bottle at 12.5% ABV. The grapes come from gravelly vineyards in Savigny-en-Véron, in the northern part of the Chinon zone. Fermentation on the skins lasts about 15 days with twice-daily pumping over, and the wine is raised only in stainless steel, so there is no oak influence on the fruit. The nose is wild strawberry and cherry, with blackcurrant, pencil shavings and a little smoke. The palate is black cherry and blackberry with smoked meat, spice and fine-grained tannins. The finish is medium, slightly grippy, with earthy, mineral notes.
