Marquis de Puysegur Grand Armagnac 1956

This is a 1956 vintage Armagnac from Marquis de Puysegur, a Gascon house that specialises in single-vintage Bas-Armagnac. The house ages each year's harvest separately in oak for decades before release, rather than blending across vintages as most brandy houses do. The result is a rounded, rustic depth of the kind associated with very old Armagnac. Dried fig, prune, walnut and warm oak spice come through on the palate, followed by a long, gently woody finish.
