Iwai is a blended Japanese whisky from the Shinshu Mars Distillery in Nagano, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It takes its name from Kiichiro Iwai, a pioneer of Japanese whisky.
The blend was made to bring out the aroma and woody flavour that come from storage in bourbon barrels, with a light taste and a lingering finish.
In the tasting notes it is sweet, with fruit flavours of pear and quince, hints of red fruits and vanilla.
