This is a Japanese single malt from Mars, distilled at the Shinshu distillery in 2014 and bottled in 2017 at 59% in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit was aged on Yakushima, a World Heritage Site island about 60km south-southwest of the Kagoshima mainland. Five bourbon barrels were chosen from the Yakushima ageing cellar and vatted, using 3-year-old whisky.
The nose is youthful and woody with a sweet note of cinnamon. The palate is lively, with cinnamon sweetness, delicate smokiness and a little salt.
