A 24-year-old single cask Japanese single malt from Mars Shinshu, in a 70cl bottle at 59% ABV. The distillery halted production in 1992 and resumed in 2011. This whisky was distilled in 1991, matured in a sherry cask and bottled in 2015 by Whisky Talk Fukuoka. Only 375 bottles were made.
The nose offers dried fruits, dark chocolate, spices, subtle oak and nuttiness. The palate is full-bodied, with dried figs, sherry sweetness, spices, toffee, leather and dark berries. The finish is long and warming, with lingering sweetness, gentle spice, dried fruit and oak.
