Mars Komagatake – 40th Anniversary Special Edition

This special edition of Mars Komagatake marks forty years of the distillery. It is a Japanese single malt that combines selected vintages from four decades, deliberately leaving out the quiet years of the 2000s. The whisky matured in bourbon casks, sherry casks and American white oak. The nose offers ripe apricot and juicy melon, with agave sweetness, soft vanilla and light woody notes. On the palate come raisins, creamy chestnut and toasted almonds, with a touch of cinnamon and dark chocolate. The finish is long and balanced, with mild sweetness and an elegant, spicy bitterness.
