Mars Komagatake 5 Year Old 2016 Bourbon Barrel #5183 Tsunuki Aging (60%)

This Komagatake is a single cask single malt from Mars, distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2022 at 60%. It was matured in a bourbon barrel, number 5183, and belongs to the Antipodes series, which presents the Komagatake malt matured in three different places. The spirit was distilled at the Shinshu distillery in the Japanese Alps, then moved to the Tsunuki distillery on the island of Kyushu, where the hot, humid climate shapes maturation. With a phenol level of 20ppm, it has a fresh, floral profile with a refined, smoky peat.
