Mars Komagatake IPA Cask Finish 2020 is a Japanese single malt, bottled at 52% in a 70cl bottle. Only 2,688 bottles were released.
The whisky matured in oak casks and was then moved into casks that had previously held India Pale Ale, a style of finishing still uncommon among Japanese whiskies.
The nose is complex and a little bitter, with citrus fruit and honey. On the palate come grapefruit, orange and dark chocolate, sweet and fruity. The finish is long, with the IPA casks and dark chocolate still present.
