This is a 2022 edition single malt from the Mars Shinshu Distillery in Nagano Prefecture. After its main maturation it was finished in casks that previously held the India Pale Ale of the neighbouring Minami Shinshu Brewery.
The nose is floral, with jasmine and zesty lime alongside light malt and a restrained note of hops. The palate brings grapefruit and spicy herbs, with the finely bitter structure of the IPA cask. The long finish has kiwi and a dry, hop-led character.
