Mars Komagatake IPA Cask Finish 2024

This is a Japanese single malt from Mars Shinshu Distillery, made in an alpine climate and finished in a cask that previously held India Pale Ale. The beer is a hoppy, medium-dark style brewed at the neighbouring Minami Shinshu Beer Komagatake Brewery. The nose is fresh and lively, with citrus fruit. The palate carries a sweetness reminiscent of grapefruit and lime, and the finish is spicy with a pleasant bitterness. It is also described as a good base for a highball.
