Mars Komagatake Tsunuki Aging 2019 is a Japanese single malt distilled at the Mars Shinshu distillery in the Japanese Alps, in Nagano prefecture. It was matured at the Mars Tsunuki site in Kagoshima prefecture, on the southern island of Kyushu, where the climate is warmer. The whisky aged in bourbon casks and comes in a 70cl bottle at 56% ABV.
The nose is fruity, with raspberry, apple and pear and a hint of banana bread. On the palate there are vanilla, caramel, marmalade and dried citrus peel, with a touch of mango and pineapple. The finish stays sweet, with mango ice cream and a gentle spiciness.
