Mars Malt Duo Komagatake × Chichibu (54%)

Mars Malt Duo is a Japanese blended malt whisky bottled at 54%, joining the styles of Komagatake and Chichibu. It grew out of a joint project begun in 2015, which set out to bring to Japan the Scottish habit of exchanging casks between distilleries. The distilled spirit was swapped and then matured for almost six years. Each malt matured in the region of its own distillery, and the bottle was finished in maturation at the Shinshu distillery. It is presented as the first blended malt in Japanese whisky made by combining malts matured in this way.
