Mars Maltage 'Cosmo' Blended Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Mars Maltage 'Cosmo' is a Japanese blended malt at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It combines single malts distilled and aged in Shinshu with single malts distilled and aged in Scotland. The name comes from a peak in the mountains around the Shinshu Mars Distillery in Nagano, which sits at 798 metres. The distillery began distilling again in 2011, and the Chief Blender chose each of the single malts himself, aiming for particular flavour characteristics. The nose is mild and soft with honey. The palate is rich and sweet, with honey, caramel and ripe fruit, and a slightly smoky note. The finish is mild and pleasant.
