Mars Maltage Cosmo Blended Malt (70cl, 43%)

Mars Maltage Cosmo is a Japanese blended malt whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43% ABV. It blends young and mature single malts from the small Shinshu distillery with malts from Scotland. Master distiller Takehira Koteru built the blend around the character of each malt. The name refers to one of the peaks in the range around the distillery. The colour is deep amber. The nose has cherry and plum, toasted hazelnut and sweet, spicy vanilla over an earthy background. The palate is soft, round and enveloping, with citrus, cocoa and caramel. The finish is long, somewhere between cereal and oak.
