Mars Maltage "Cosmo" Wine Cask Finish 2020 Blended Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

A blended malt from Shinshu Mars, released by Hombo Shuzo in 2020 as part of the Mars Maltage Cosmo series, which has brought out a limited edition each year since 2019. This one was finished in red wine casks, and Hombo Shuzo also runs a winery in Yamanashi prefecture. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The colour is ruby red. The wine casks give a fruity, spicy palate and pleasant, lingering tannins on the finish. It won a Gold medal at the 2020 Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Competition. Cosmo is named after a mountain in the Japan Central Alps, near the distillery.
