Mars Shinshu – Komagatake 2022 (50%)

A single malt from the Mars Shinshu Distillery in the Kiso mountains of Nagano Prefecture, in its 2022 release. Clear mountain air, soft spring water from Miyata and the natural temperature swings of the seasons shape its character. It is bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose offers lively apricot and ripe banana, with a hint of honeyed apple tea. On the palate, dried plums and dates meet the texture of roasted, honey-glazed nuts. The finish is long, with fine tannins and lasting fruitiness.
