Mars Shinshu – Twin Alps Japanese Blended Whisky (2015) (75cl, 40%)

This is a Japanese blended whisky from the Mars Shinshu distillery, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle and sold under the Twin Alps name. The distillery stands at Miyada, a highland village in Nagano Prefecture about 800m above sea level, which makes it the highest whisky distillery in Japan. The spirit is made with pure alpine water and is distilled only during the Japanese winter. It is usually described as having subtle spice, oak and fruit flavours, and is easy to drink neat, over ice or as a highball with soda.
