MB Roland Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey is a grain-to-glass corn whiskey from the family-run MB Roland Distillery in Pembroke, Kentucky, which was founded in 2009. It comes in a 750ml bottle.
It is pot-distilled from a mash of 95% white corn and 5% malt, using corn grown in Christian County, and aged in bourbon barrels. In a pre-Prohibition style, it is bottled unfiltered and uncut at barrel proof. Each batch is proofed individually between 51% and 55% ABV, then hand-labelled and numbered.
The whiskey is a light golden honey in the glass. The nose brings cornbread with a light honey drizzle and a hint of crisp apple. The palate suggests salted kettle corn and pralines, and the medium, warm finish has baking spice, seasoned oak, vanilla and a hint of tobacco.
