MB Roland Still & Barrel Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at the MB Roland Distillery in Pembroke, Christian County, in western Kentucky. It is bottled uncut and unfiltered, straight from the barrel at full cask strength, so the strength varies from batch to batch.
The mash bill is built on local white corn, typically 78 percent white corn, 17 percent rye and 5 percent malted barley. The spirit is distilled on pot stills and aged in air-seasoned new charred oak barrels.
It is deep amber in colour. The nose has sweet corn, vanilla and ripe pear with honey, a touch of pepper and sweet oak. The palate is bold, with corn, butterscotch, buttered pecan, lemon zest and warm baking spice, followed by a long, warming finish of oak, honey and gentle spice.
