This is a 2014 release of Michter's 20 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon, drawn from barrel 14H511. It was aged for at least 20 years and bottled at 57.1% ABV (114.2 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
The long maturation took place in charred American oak, which brings sweetness, mature wood and warming spice. As a single barrel bottling, it reflects the character of that one barrel.
Published notes on this release describe a nose of vanilla, honey, molasses, oak and dark fruit. The palate shows caramel, vanilla, spiced honey and ripe orange with an oily texture, and the finish is lingering oak and spice with a rounded sweetness.
