Michter's – Barrel Strength Rye Whiskey (75cl, 54.5%)

Michter's Barrel Strength Rye is an American rye whiskey in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 54.5% ABV, or 109 proof. It is a limited release. Michter's traces its story to John Shenk, a Swiss Mennonite farmer who settled near Pennsylvania's Blue Mountain Valley in the 18th century. With more grain than he could sell at market, he bought a still and began distilling the surplus, and his distillery went on to become the first distilling company in the United States. The nose is butterscotch, golden raisins and vanilla. On the palate come morning toast, maple syrup and fresh fruit, and the spicy finish carries mint, cinnamon and honey.
