Michter's US*1 Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 45.7% ABV (91.4 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It comes from a house that describes itself as America's first whiskey distilling company.
The bourbon is made from a proprietary mashbill built on American corn and matured in new, fire-charred American white oak barrels. It is then mellowed by the house's own filtration.
The nose shows a strong barrel presence. The palate is notably dry, with baking spices and velvety caramel, and the finish balances the heat of the spirit against the richness of the oak.
