Michter's – Bourbon Sour Mash Small Batch (70cl, 43%)

This is a small batch sour mash bourbon from Michter's, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. Sour mash means that mash from a previous batch is used to start the fermentation of the new mash, much as a sourdough starter is used for bread. It was the most popular whiskey from this distillery in the last century. The nose brings cinnamon, caramel, butter, almonds and the scent of an oak floor. The palate is lightly peppery and a little sweet, with fruit, and the mild, soft finish shows clear new oak.
