Shenk's Homestead is Michter's annual release, named after Johannes Shenk, the Swiss immigrant who founded the original distillery in 1753. This 2021 edition is a small batch Kentucky sour mash whiskey, bottled at 45.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Part of the whiskey is matured in special oak barrels, including toasted French oak. The nose offers soft honey, baked apples and cloves, while the palate brings creamy caramel, toffee and nutmeg. The finish is long and warm, with brown sugar and spice.
