Michter's – Shenk's Homestead Batch L25E1903 Bottled 2025 (70cl, 45.6%)

Michter's Shenk's Homestead is a small batch Kentucky sour mash whiskey, released annually since 2018. This is the 2025 edition from Batch L25E1903, which came to 2429 bottles at 45.6% ABV, or 91.2 US proof. It is finished in uncharred French oak barrels at the end of its maturation, which is why it cannot be called bourbon. The mashbill has a high proportion of rye, giving herbal, spicy and menthol notes. The name honours the Shenk Brothers, who set up the distillery in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania, in 1753. It later became known as Michter's.
