Michter's – Small Batch Original Sour Mash Whiskey (43%)

An American sour mash whiskey from Michter's, bottled in the Small Batch range at 43% ABV. It matures in new white oak casks. The sour mash method uses a portion of an earlier fermented mash to start the next one, much as a sourdough starter works. The grain recipe sits between rye and bourbon, so the whiskey is not placed in either category. Wood, grain, spice and a soft sweetness shape its profile.
